3 credits
EDU 166

This course is designed to explore mathematics through a conceptual lens that involves modeling, hands on activities, and problem-solving; this approach can mitigate the math anxiety that is often a barrier. The course focuses on understanding the mathematical concepts necessary for daily life, and to apply mathematics as circumstances arise at home, school or the workplace. Concepts include problem- solving, reasoning and logic, numeration systems, number theory, geometry, algebra, statistics and probability, data analysis, integers, and operations with rational numbers.
Prerequisite(s): Sequenced in first semester of enrollment in the Education Program.
