MCS 390 - Documentary Video Studio

3 credits
This course introduces students to the art and craft of non-fiction filmmaking. Through screenings, discussions, and hands-on workshops, students will learn to research, pitch, and ethically develop documentary proposals; master production skills including interviewing, archival research, cinematography, sound, and lighting; and gain experience in post-production editing, fundraising, and distribution. Students will build their skills through targeted exercises, culminating in a final documentary project that explores a single subject in depth.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 100  or ENG 101
