MCS 374 - Special Topics in Media and Cultural Studies

This course offers an in-depth exploration of timely issues in media and culture through a rotating theme each semester. Students critically analyze diverse media forms such as film, social media, AI, literature, environment, and visual art to understand how media shapes cultural identities, power structures, and social change. Emphasizing critical thinking and media literacy, the course may combine or emphasize discussion, research, and creative projects. Topics vary each term, allowing students to engage with current debates and emerging trends in media and cultural studies.
