GER 260 - Death and Dying3 credits This course provides knowledge of death, dying and grief with a particular focus on older adulthood. A multicultural lens will be used to highlight death, dying and grief experiences and responses as they relate to race, ethnicity and gender identity. Topics include bereavement and grief, death rituals, interventions for persons with terminal illnesses, caregiving and coping strategies, advanced directives, death and ethics, and theories of grief.
