BUS 315 - Operations and Supply Chain Management3 credits This course provides an overview of the critical elements associated with Operations Management for applications in both manufacturing and service industries. Topics include operations strategy, process design, capacity planning, forecasting, production scheduling, supply chain and inventory control, quality assurance and sustainability, as well as fundamental elements of project management, continuous improvement and data-based analysis and decision making. The student will learn to apply these topics within a systems model for the operations of any organization to best deal with an ever-changing world that presents both challenges and opportunities.
