BIO 112 - General Biology I4 credits The first semester of a two semester lecture and laboratory course in general biology covering principles of biological organization (molecules through ecosystems), processes of genetics and evolution, and the application of these topics to global problems. The laboratory introduces scientific research methods, hypothesis testing, and scientific communication with an emphasis on real-world issues. Three lecture hours and three lab hours every week.
