BIO 105 - Biology for Everyday Life4 credits Introductory biology for non-majors which emphasizes the connections between biology and everyday life. Topics include scientific inquiry, chemistry of life, cells, genetics, evolution, human biology, diversity of living organisms, and ecology. On-line format includes video lectures and on-line discussion groups. Students will conduct thirteen lab activities in their home or dorm.
NOTE: Students taking this class will be required to purchase one home lab kit, at a cost to be determined before the start of the semester. The cost of the kit is estimated to be approximately $225-250. For student in the YourPace program, the cost of the lab kit is included in the overall tuition charge and there is no additional cost for the kit.
