The UMPI YourPace M.A. in American Studies enables students to investigate and analyze the experiences of diverse groups of people of the United States through an interdisciplinary lens in order to prepare them to contend with a range of problems which confront our society of the 21st century. Students’ exploration of major themes in American history and culture from different perspectives will equip them with an awareness through which to understand, think rigorously about, and address contemporary issues from the standpoint of their historical and cultural antecedents.
