MAT 104 - Quantitative Reasoning3 credits There is no escaping the important of mathematics in the modern world. However, for most people, the importance of mathematics lies not in its abstract ideas, but in its application to personal and social issues. The purpose of this course is to prepare students for the mathematics they will encounter in core college courses in social and natural sciences, develop student’s abilities to reason with quantitative information in a way that will help them achieve success in their career, and provide students with critical thinking and quantitative reasoning skills they will need to understand major issues in life. This course is designed primarily for those who are not planning to major in a field that requires advanced mathematical skills. When Offered: Fall and Spring
