SWK 105 - Connecting with People: Helping Skills for Various Groups

3 credits
Open to students from any major, this course explores perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences of various groups. The purpose is to broaden students understanding of lived experiences, with emphasis on applications in social work and human service professions. Self-reflection and developing knowledge when connecting with others are primary course objectives. Students learn about a variety of helping frameworks and connection skills to support and understand a broad range of groups and persons in society.
