Mission and Outcomes
By completing the Healthcare Administration Program and obtaining proficiency in the following program learning outcomes, graduates will be able to accurately assess and investigate community health challenges to increase the quality, availability, and the effectiveness of educational and community-based programs that are designed to prevent chronic disease, prevent injury and illness, and enhance quality of life. Students will confront these challenges by learning to develop and employ effective strategies, policies, and education programs while increasing their knowledge in health literacy topics that are important to themselves and their local communities while also gaining an awareness of health literacy on a national and international scale. Together these qualities will prepare students to be professional and impactful community health workers.
HEA BS 1) Students should be able to interpret and apply scientific concepts surrounding healthcare administration and management; focusing on the implementation of assessment, policy development, philosophy and practices in healthcare delivery.
HEA BS 2) Students should be able to apply, adapt, and deliver appropriate communication strategies to address socioeconomic and cultural considerations; as well as other demographic factors that influence healthcare delivery and associated outcomes.

HEA BS 4) Students should be able to manage and lead programs and services designed to address and prioritize quality improvement initiatives and emerging trends and issues in health care.
HEA BS 5) Students should be able to critically analyze and apply models and strategies to establish and sustain effective leadership practices that meet personal, organizational, and community goals in understanding ethical and legal standards of healthcare systems.
