Human Services Minor

The Minor in Human Services is a 21 credit hour array of foundational courses (18 credits) and specific topics (3 credits). These are complementary to other majors such as behavioral and social science, business, criminal justice, exercise science, psychology for students who have an interest in working in the public sector.
The State of Maine mandates special training for employment in certain public welfare positions. Individuals planning to provide community support services in positions funded by the Department of Health and Human Services and MaineCare (formerly Medicaid) must meet specific knowledge competencies.
