EDU 153 - Social Foundations of Education in a Diverse World

3 credits
A study of the social, cultural, political, philosophical, economic, and legal foundations of contemporary education and an examination of current educational trends, policies, and programs. Areas of study include teaching as a career, school laws, governance of schools, school problems, educational ideologies, and development of an educational philosophy. This course requires the completion of a semester-long clinical field experience.
