ART 106 - Sketchbook Process

3 credits
This course invites students to cultivate a daily observational drawing practice through the use of the artist sketchbook as a vital tool for visual, conceptual, process, and experimental research. Students will engage in drawing from life across diverse contexts, which can include plein air sessions, field trips, gallery visits, and more. Emphasis will be placed on developing a regular recording practice, personal style, experimentation with various media, development of visual research methodologies, and the integration of observation into artistic research.
