NUR 230 - Promoting Personal Health and Wellness3 credits This course enables students to be informed, responsible, respectful, and capable when making decisions affecting their own wellbeing or when assisting their patients. The multiple dimensions of health and wellness (e.g., personal, social, economic, environmental, political) are examined. Personal and professional activities promoting health and preventing illness for oneself and the public, based on theoretical and evidence- based practice, are also included. Values and principles central to legal and ethical nursing practice are presented as is the importance of self-care to promote ethical and legal nursing practice. Personal and public values related to health and wellness are also discussed. Prerequisite(s): GPA 25 or higher Co-requisite(s): NUR 201L or NUR 202L or Nur 212L
